Meeting held on November 2 with TTFD and STFD to address the loss of several members of the team to retirement or other careers. An organizational meeting will be held later this month to organize next years training schedule.
Also there will be new leadership for both the SRT and the Hazmat portion of our groups. David Sommers and Brian Pike will be the leads for the SRT and Jim Berent and John Wunderle will lead the hazmat portion of the group.
John Wunderle has extensive experience at HSC (Hemlock Semiconductor) with a vast amount of hazardous materials experience.
Brian Pike has extensive experience from the Air Force and is a graduate of the Air Force Academy. He has also been an officer with STFD for many years and is also an adjunct instructor for Delta College.
Jim Berent has his hazardous materials background with Dow Corning and has been a member of their outside response team for years. He also instructs at the Hazardous Materials Training Center in Lansing.
I will still be the overall lead for both of the teams and will be working with the co-leaders to develop a cohesive training schedule and development of both teams.
Welcome to the new co-leaders of the hazmat and SRT portion of our County response teams.
